This tiny crochet flower appliqué has five rounded petals and a small open center. Its outline comes from pairs of joined treble crochet stitches, giving each petal a defined edge without adding separate pieces.

Materials and size
The sample uses Alize Baby Wool: 175 m per 50 g, composed of 40% wool, 20% bamboo and 40% acrylic. The creator uses a 2.1 mm hook, choosing a relatively small hook for definition while keeping the stitches relaxed. Have scissors and a needle ready. A length of ordinary sewing thread folded into a loop can help pull a yarn tail through a small needle eye.
The demonstrated one-color flower measures about 4 cm. Other yarns will change the size. Before making several appliqués for one item, complete a sample and check that its center and petals lie in the shape you want. The two-color option uses the same five-petal outline.
| US term | Meaning |

| sl st | Slip stitch |
| tr2tog in one stitch | Two unfinished treble crochets in one base, closed together. |
Make the contrasting-center version
-
Start with a chain ring
Ch 6 and join to the first chain with a sl st. Leave a tail long enough to weave under the center stitches. For the two-color version, work 15 sc directly into the ring without a separate lifting chain. Count all 15 stitches before cutting the center yarn.

Close the center neatly
Draw the cut tail through the final loop. With the hook approaching from the wrong side, bring the tail through the second sc, then back through the rear half loop of the last stitch as shown in the video. Adjust it to imitate the top of a stitch rather than leaving a large joining knot.

Pull the tail through the next stitch → Return through the final back loop → Rebuild the last stitch top → Check the closed center. Source: original creator tutorial. -
Join the petal yarn
Insert the hook into any center sc, pull through the new color and secure it with a sl st. Leave the tail long enough to hide later. Ch 4 for the rising edge of the first petal.

Work the first treble cluster
In the next sc, begin a US tr: yarn over twice, insert the hook, pull up a loop, then yarn over and pull through two loops twice, leaving the final two loops unfinished. Begin another tr in the same base and work it to the same unfinished stage. Yarn over and pull through the remaining loops to close both trebles together.

Finish the petal
Work a second tr2tog group into the following sc. Ch 4 and sl st into the next center stitch. The rising chain, two joined groups and descending chain make one petal. Spread it gently with your fingers so you can see the scalloped shape.

Chain four after the clusters → Anchor in the next center stitch → Check the first completed petal → Start the next chain-four rise. Source: original creator tutorial. -
Repeat around the center
Ch 4, work tr2tog in the next stitch, tr2tog in the following stitch, ch 4 and sl st into the next stitch. Repeat until there are five petals. The final anchor closes the round at the starting area. Check the center stitch placement rather than adding an extra petal to fill a gap.

Finish on the back
Cut a useful tail, pull it through the final loop and bring it to the wrong side at the petal base. Bring the joining tail to the same side. Hide all ends beneath the sc stitches of the center, following the ring rather than crossing the open hole.

The one-color option
For the first version in the video, the creator works a lifting chain followed by 14 sc into the ch-6 ring and joins to the first sc. The first petal begins at this join; the chain and joining position are part of that setup. Continue the demonstrated petal placement for a total of five petals. The two-color 15-sc setup above is easier to count as three center stitches per petal repeat.
Finishing and troubleshooting
Small flowers show bulky knots easily. Instead of tying all the tails together, thread each one under the center stitches and change direction before trimming. If the needle eye is too small for the yarn, thread a doubled length of sewing thread through it, place the yarn tail in that loop, then pull the loop and yarn through the eye.
If a petal is much taller than the others, check whether you made a US treble with two yarn overs rather than a double crochet. If the petal edge is tight, relax the four-chain sides. For curling, spread the petals gently and block according to the yarn label; keep any steam source above the flower rather than touching it.
