Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains what happens to information about you when you visit Ideas for Crochet (ideasforcrochet.com). The short version: we do not ask you for any personal information, we have no user accounts, comments, contact forms, newsletter or adverts, and the site itself sets no cookies. Some information is still processed when your browser loads the site, and this page sets out where that happens.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting server keeps a technical log of requests. Each entry records the IP address of the visitor, the date and time, the page or file requested, the page you came from (if your browser sends it) and your browser type. Search terms you type into the site’s search box are part of the page address, so they appear in this log too.
We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, for example to find errors or block abusive traffic. Logs are rotated daily and deleted automatically after about a week.
Cloudflare
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security service. Every request to the site passes through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages quickly and protect the site from attacks.
Cloudflare also adds its Web Analytics script to our pages. It reports anonymous page-view information, such as which pages are visited and how quickly they load. Cloudflare states that this analytics does not use cookies or track individual visitors across sites. You can read more in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Google Fonts
The fonts used on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. To show them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. Google’s handling of this data is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
YouTube videos
Each tutorial embeds the original video by the maker whose work it follows. These embeds use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player loads when you scroll near it, and at that point your browser connects to YouTube and Google servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. If you play a video, YouTube may store information on your device and collect viewing data under Google’s privacy policy.
Each tutorial also links to the original video on youtube.com. If you follow that link, you leave this site and YouTube’s policies apply.
Pinterest “Save” buttons
The “Save” buttons on our images are ordinary links. No Pinterest code is loaded on this site, so Pinterest receives nothing from us until you click one. Clicking opens Pinterest in a new tab, where Pinterest’s privacy policy applies.
Information stored in your browser
The site does not set cookies. WordPress, the software the site runs on, stores one small technical value in your browser’s session storage to check whether your browser can display emoji. It contains no information about you and is cleared when you close the tab.
Children
The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because we collect no personal information through forms or accounts, we hold nothing beyond the short-lived server logs described above.
Your choices
You can block or limit third-party content, such as fonts, analytics and embedded videos, with your browser’s privacy settings or a content blocker. The tutorials remain readable without them.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site works changes, for example if we add a newsletter or comments, we will update this page and the date at the top.
